About The Abbey
The site of The Abbey College was established as a seat of learning in 1874, lying on the lower slopes of the famous Malvern Hills in central England.
Our Location
The region contains some of England's loveliest countryside. The Abbey College itself is part of a government-recognised "area of outstanding natural beauty".
Malvern
The town of Malvern, with a population of around 40,000, is renowned as a centre for high-quality private education, and is statistically one of the safest towns in the whole of the U.K.
Students with us focus on living and learning away from the dangers and distractions of many big cities.
Our central location does however provide the opportunity to arrange supervised excursions to various cities around us on a regular basis. Older students are free to use convenient local transport in their free time.

The cathedral cities of Worcester, Hereford and Gloucester are within half an hour, with Cheltenham, Stratford, Birmingham, Bath and Oxford also close by. London is 2½ hours away by car or direct train.
Abbey College also frequently arranges social excursions to the local cinema, discos, ten-pin bowling and leisure centre.

Insurance
We strongly recommend insurance for students on all courses. You may choose your own insurance company. Our recommended insurance company is Endsleigh. Please click on the link below for details.

Inspection Reports
The Abbey College is a member of professional associations such as EnglishUK and HELSA, and is regularly inspected by a number of organisations such as The British Council, OFSTED, the National Care Standards Commission, and other departments relating to health, safety, fire, food and hygiene.
The Abbey College is also inspected and accredited by the British Accreditation Council (BAC). Accredited institutions are subject to full inspections and are required to submit annual reports.
The list of BAC-accredited colleges is the most reliable guide in choosing between the many institutions in the independent further education sector.
Our BAC accreditation is your assurance of our academic and residential standards. Copies of all our inspection reports are available to parents on request.
We also welcome parents of long-term students to the Abbey College at any time, so that progress can be discussed and any problems resolved, reinforcing communication between school and home.
