Teacher of Law

£25,000 - £29,000 per annum pro rata

Abbey College in Malvern is looking for a teacher of Law to work on our International Foundation Humanities, Law and Social Science programmes. This is an RQF Level 3 programme, equivalent to A Level. Students then progress on to a range of degrees at University, including Law.

This role will be offered on a 0.2 FTE permanent basis. A wider contract may be available to a suitably qualified candidate who can offer other subjects. There is also the possibility of a residential position.

Closing date: 12 noon on Friday, 18th May 2018.  However, applications will be assessed as they come in so the position may be filled earlier.

 

EFL Teacher

£380 - £410 per week

Looking for energetic teachers of English to work with young people in a beautiful rural setting this summer. Teaching work available in April, June, July and August. CELTA required. Accommodation available.

Position type: residential, fixed-term. (Accommodation and catering provided by employer.)

Dates of employment: 16 June – 25 August

Responsibilities and Duties

Indication of Duties:

  • Deliver a challenging, engaging and effective course of English lessons to a class up to 18 international students, following the relevant scheme of work and the school timetable.
  • Write students’ end of course reports.
  • Create a stimulating, student-focused and welcoming classroom environment for your group and contribute to the presentation of the EFL department as a whole.
  • Participate in the development program (observations, feedback, TD sessions and skill sharing).
  • Safely and confidently manage a group of students during off-site excursions and providing continuous supervision, following the relevant itinerary.
  • Campus duties; according to rota (e.g. activities, student free time and meal time supervision).
  • Contribute to the overnight element of student care if required.
  • Attend induction day and participate in short course/summer school set-up and shut-down.

Qualifications and Skills

Required qualifications: CELTA or Trinity CertTESOL.

Preferred qualifications (in addition to above):

  • PGCE
  • bachelor’s or master’s degree
  • first aid qualification
  • child protection training

Required experience: little

Preferred (recent) experience:

  • teaching English as a foreign language
  • working in boarding schools and/or residential summer schools with children aged 8 to 17

Language requirement: C2 language user competence in English.

Activity Organiser

£285 - £320 per week

Looking for energetic, team players to plan and lead high quality activities, working with young people in a beautiful rural setting this summer. Work available in June, July and August.

This role could be residential and meals can be included.

  • Attend induction day and participate in short summer school set-up and shut-down.
  • Campus duties; according to rota (e.g. activities, student free time and meal time supervision).
  • Contribute to the overnight element of student care when required.
  • Organise, prepare and if necessary, coach relevant activities and attend all necessary meetings.
  • Ensure College bedrooms and boarding houses are tidy and help keep the College tidy and presentable.
  • Help ensure students do not breach the College rules and encourage the students to speak English at every opportunity.
  • Monitor the welfare of the students and ensure students behave in such a way that health and safety is promoted within and outside the College.
  • Safely and confidently manage a group of students during off-site excursions and provide continuous supervision, following the relevant itinerary.
